

About the Author
Dr Kevin C. Chung is a Professor of Surgery in the Section of Plastic Surgery at the University of Michigan. He currently serves as a Council member for the American Society for Surgery of the Hand and is on the Board of Directors for the Plastic Surgery Education Foundation.
He is a senior examiner for the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is the 2007 designated visiting professor for the American Society of Plastic Surgery. Dr. Chung has published over 145 peer-reviewed manuscripts and 60 book chapters. In addition to 'Hand and Wrist Surgery', he is the editor of three additional hand and upper extremity surgery textbooks currently in production.
He is a Deputy Editor for the Journal of Hand Surgery and is an Associate Editor for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He was the 2003 Sterling Bunnell Traveling Fellow for the American Society for Surgery of the Hand and in 2004, he received the Australia/New Zealand Traveling Fellowship from the American College of Surgeons.
Dr Chung trained in general surgery, plastic surgery and hand surgery.
He received a master degree in statistics and research design at the University of Michigan where he trained as a Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholar. Dr Chung has served on over 15 grant review committees for the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and he currently holds a National Institutes of Health R0-1 grant to study outcomes of hand arthroplasty for rheumatoid arthritis.
